Extended health benefits can exhibit substantial variations across different plans, often encompassing coverage for acupuncture therapy within a range of 70% to 100% of treatment fees. Nevertheless, specific plans may offer a predetermined annual sum rather than a coverage percentage.
Please refer to your insurance provider for information on your benefits and coverage.
To facilitate reimbursement through Extended Health Benefits insurance, we kindly request that you submit your receipts directly to your provider. We recommend adhering to a consistent schedule for receipt submissions, ideally at intervals of approximately three months, as a beneficial practice.
ICBC
We are an authorized provider under ICBC and have the capability to invoice directly. Whether you have been involved in a minor fender bender or a more serious accident, our team of physiotherapists possesses the expertise and resources required to facilitate a prompt recovery, enabling you to return to your pre-accident state of well-being swiftly.
The initial step is to report your claim to ICBC. You may contact them directly through ‘Dial–A-Claim’ at 604-520-8222 or alternatively, utilize their straightforward online claims process. Once you have obtained a claim number, please reach out to Wellcare Holistic Wellness Clinic at 778-881-5027 in order to schedule your appointments. Our dedicated team is here to guide you through the entirety of your recovery plan.
ICBC will cover any of the following:
Building on the recent improvements to accident benefits that government brought into effect on April 1, 2019, the Government of British Columbia intends to introduce a new care-based insurance model that ICBC will implement in May 2021. Enhanced Care coverage will ensure that any British Columbian injured in a crash has significantly enhanced recovery benefits. For the first 12 weeks after your crash, you can get treatment with the following health care practitioners for the number of treatments this table. If additional treatments are required we will work with ICBC to extend your coverage.
BC MEDICAL SERVICES PLAN
Funding for acupuncture treatment through the Medical Services Plan of BC (MSP) is accessible to individuals receiving premium assistance. If you’re uncertain about your eligibility for coverage, rest assured that we will verify this information for you and inform you of the remaining treatments available to you for the year. For this purpose, we kindly request that you bring your care card or personal health number to your initial appointment. It’s important to note that a doctor’s referral is NOT necessary.
Under MSP, coverage includes a combined annual limit of 10 visits for various treatments, including acupuncture, massage therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractic, naturopathy, and non-surgical podiatry. MSP provides coverage of $23.00 per visit, and to streamline the process, we will directly bill MSP on your behalf. You will be responsible for covering the remaining balance of your treatment fees.
DIRECT BILLING
We are pleased to offer the convenience of direct billing to your insurance provider, eliminating the need for you to make out-of-pocket payments or manage paperwork.
Upon confirmation of your insurance coverage, your sole responsibility will be to settle the remaining balance of your fee, which will be contingent on the specifics of your individual plan.

What We Need:
- Provider Name: The name of your insurance provider.
- Policy Number: Your policy number with the insurance provider.
- ID Number: Your unique identification number or member ID provided by your insurance plan.
- Relationship to Policy Holder: Specify your relationship to the policy holder (e.g., Self, Spouse, Parent, etc.).
- Secondary Coverage: If applicable, provide details about any secondary coverage you may have from a spouse, parent, or another source.
* We offer direct billing services to one insurance company at a time, with the exception of Pacific Blue Cross. If you have coverage from both your personal plan and a family plan, we are obligated to submit the claim to your personal plan first before processing the alternate plan.
*Please be aware that in rare cases, claim results or responses may not be immediately available, and it may take 1-2 weeks to receive confirmation. In such instances, We currently offer direct billing for the following insurance providers
*Each insurance plan comes with its unique policies and restrictions. Some plans may necessitate a doctor’s note for acupuncture treatment, while others may not permit online direct billing. We strongly encourage all our patients to verify their eligibility for acupuncture treatment with their respective insurance providers before their appointment.
*If your insurance provider does not accept direct billing, we will provide you with a receipt after each treatment. You can then submit this receipt to your insurance provider to initiate the reimbursement process.
